What the model leaves out
Pro rates are for the iad1 (Washington D.C.) region; other regions differ. The $20/month Pro fee is Vercel's platform plan and comes with $20 of usage credit shared across all Vercel resources, which can absorb Blob usage — not modelled. Hobby is free but Blob stops working (for 30 days) once the limits are hit, and its allowance is shared with the project's other Vercel usage. Operations ($0.40/M simple after 10K, $5.00/M advanced after 2K on Hobby), CDN requests and Fast Origin Transfer on cache misses ($0.06/GB) are not modelled. Pro can opt into Flat Rate CDN, whose lowest tier (included with Pro) covers 1M CDN requests and 1 TB of transfer including Blob Data Transfer, but Vercel excludes workloads where file delivery is the main use, so on-demand rates are shown.
- On Hobby, Blob stops working for 30 days once you exceed the limits, and the allowance is shared with the project's other Vercel usage.
- Cache misses add Fast Origin Transfer and CDN request charges, and blobs over 512 MB are never cached, so every access is a miss.
- Dashboard browsing and uploads count as Advanced Operations ($5 per million), and multipart uploads count one per part.
- Pro's optional Flat Rate CDN includes 1 TB of transfer that also covers Blob Data Transfer, but Vercel excludes bulk file distribution and using the CDN as file hosting.
